Day 1 - Depart Canada

Depart Toronto for New York or Washington, D.C. where you will be under your own arrangements for the night.

Day 2 - Depart USA

Make your way to the airport to check in for your flight to Johannesburg.

Depart New York (JFK) or Washington, D.C. (Dulles) on your international South African Airways flight to Cape Town via Johannesburg. From the moment you board your South African Airways flight you feel the warm and welcoming African hospitality in every detail of the world class service you are about to experience.

Day 3 - Johannesburg/Cape Town

On arrival at Johannesburg's Oliver Tambo International Airport's Central Terminal Building, collect your luggage and then clear Customs and Immigration. Re-check your bags for your domestic flight to Cape Town where you will be met by a Lion World Travel representative and transferred to your hotel.

Day 4 - Cape Town

Enjoy a day of leisure in the wonderful city of Cape Town. Cape Town is a city with a diverse range of attractions, sights and activities to offer and has something for everyone.

Victoria & Alfred Waterfront

From the landmark beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay to the vibrant Victoria and Alfred Waterfront and Cape Town city center, the award-winning wine farms of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek - time spent in Cape Town will not be forgotten.

Day 5 - Cape Town

Leisure day to explore on your own. Perhaps ride the cable car to the top of Table Mountain for stunning views over the city or tour the colorful Malay Quarter, or take the ferry to Robben Island, a poignant trip to see where Nelson Mandela and other political prisoners were incarcerated.

Day 6 - Cape Town

Spend your last day in Cape Town doing some last minute shopping or visit one of the many places of interest. There are historic and cultural sites, world-class museums and bustling markets, inviting beaches and lush gardens to visit, as well as great restaurants and wonderful shopping.

Day 7 - Cape Town/Kapama

Today you will be transferred from your hotel to Cape Town Airport in time for your scheduled flight to Johannesburg.

On arrival at Johannesburg Airport connect with your scheduled flight to Hoedspruit.

Upon arrival at Hoedspruit Airport you will be met and transferred to your lodge in the Kapama Game Reserve, covering 12 000 hectares of undisturbed bushveld in prime Big Five – Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo and Leopard - country. The reserve offers panoramic views of the nearby Drakensberg Mountain range and the area supports a wide variety of game including elephants, buffalo, rhinoceros, and a large population of giraffe, impala, blue wildebeest and kudu. A small permanent water source lies just beyond Kapama River Lodge perimeter fence attracting animals like antelopes, elephant and buffalo.

Kapama River Lodge

Kapama River Lodge is stylishly furnished and beautifully positioned along a dry riverbed. The ambience of nature is captured perfectly and guests fall in love with River Lodge the moment they arrive. Each spacious room at Kapama River Lodge features a full en-suite bathroom and patio with uninterrupted views into the leafy-green game reserve. Step onto your private balcony with a cool drink from your mini bar, and while away free time, gazing lazily into the bush for animals that may pass by, or have your early morning coffee in your room, watching the bush come alive with sound as the first rays fall.

You will arrive in time to take a late afternoon game drive where you will have excellent photo opportunities of Africa’s most amazing animals and views.

The central guest entertainment areas include a large rim-flow swimming pool with sun umbrellas and recliners for lazy afternoons. The Rhino Boma dining area has a roaring outdoor fire that gives a glow to evening meals. Buffet-style meals introduce African flavors with Pan African dishes using fresh local ingredients and specialist dishes featuring venison like kudu and impala.

Day 8 - Kapama Game Reserve

Enjoy an early morning game drive in this wildlife paradise. Spend the rest of the day relaxing by the pool, or perhaps take a siesta to make up for the early morning wake-up call, or indulge in a spa treatment. In the late afternoon you will be taken on another unforgettable safari in the unspoilt African bush.

Day 10 - Kapama/Johannesburg

After an early morning game drive to track the animals that may have eluded you so far, return to the lodge for breakfast before you are transferred to Hoedspruit for your scheduled flight to Johannesburg.

On arrival in Johannesburg you will be transferred to the Da Vinci Hotel where you will spend the night. DaVinci Hotel and Suites on Nelson Mandela Square is centrally located and features a stylish restaurant and bar. Spacious rooms are elegantly decorated and equipped with flat-screen TVs. Each has a minibar, satellite TV and a work desk. You can enjoy the convenience of luxurious shopping at the Legacy Corner Mall and Sandton City - an elevator trip away.

Day 11 - Johannesburg/Victoria Falls

After breakfast this morning you will be transferred from your hotel to Johannesburg Airport for your South African Airways flight to Victoria Falls where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Straddling the borders of Zimbabwe and Zambia, the Victoria Falls captivates visitors from all over the world. The grandeur and beauty of this extraordinary natural phenomenon must be seen to be believed. The region has recently been described as the Adventure Capital of the World. Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is set high on a plateau, which forms a natural boundary to the adjacent Zambezi National Park. The Majestic Victoria Falls is located just 4km from the lodge and the Victoria Falls Airport is 24km away.

The lodge is west-facing with an onsite waterhole, which attracts a wide variety of game throughout the year, ensuring year-round stunning sunsets and magical views of unspoilt bushveld. Rising up around existing trees and natural landscape, this newly refurbished lodge prides itself on exceptional hospitality and food. Victoria Falls

In the afternoon enjoy a tranquil sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. The Zambezi offers outstanding natural, scenic beauty with a wide diversity of game and bird life. One has a unique vantage point to spot large animals such as elephants, hippo and crocodiles, as this area lies within Zambezi National Park.

Enjoy dinner at the Makuwa-Kuwa Restaurant, which overlooks the waterhole, or at the Boma which is set in the nearby Gusu forest, and offers a unique African experience, including traditional dancers and local dishes.

Day 12 - Victoria Falls

After breakfast go on a guided tour of Victoria Falls, one of seven natural wonders of the world. This walking safari takes you through the magnificent rain forest where you are able to view the Cataracts, Livingstone's statue and a wide variety of birds and plants.

After returning to the hotel, enjoy dinner at The Boma Restaurant offering a unique African experience that bombards the senses with the tastes, sights, sounds and smells of Africa - coupled with the warmth and hospitality of the local people. Traditional customs such as local beer tasting and pre-dinner hand washing are observed, while the sights and sounds of the evening are accentuated by Ndebele performers who captivate diners with their colorful and energetic songs and dance. Steeped in mystery a witchdoctor adds a touch of drama and after-dinner guests are invited to while away the evening with the restaurant’s Sangoma - a traditional story teller - to learn more about the country’s folklore, culture and heritage.

Day 13 - Victoria Falls/Johannesburg/USA

After breakfast you will be transferred to Victoria Falls Airport for your flight back to Johannesburg. (B)

Day 14 - USA/Toronto

On arrival in New York or Washington, you will connect on to your flight back to Toronto. Arrive home with a lifetime of memories!
