Day 1 - Depart Canada
Depart Toronto for New York or Washington, D.C. where you will be under your own arrangements for the night.
Day 2 - Depart USA
Make your way to the airport to check in for your flight to Johannesburg.
Depart New York (JFK) or Washington, D.C. (Dulles) on your international South African Airways flight to Cape Town via Johannesburg. From the moment you board your South African Airways flight you feel the warm and welcoming African hospitality in every detail of the world class service you are about to experience.
Day 3 - Johannesburg/Cape Town
On arrival at Johannesburg's Oliver Tambo International Airport's Central Terminal Building, collect your luggage and then clear Customs and Immigration. Re-check your bags for your domestic flight to Cape Town.
Arrive in the bustling and vibrant city of Cape Town to enjoy all the best that South Africa has to offer. You will be met by a Lion World Travel representative at the Cape Town Airport and transferred to the 4-star Victoria & Alfred Hotel which is ideally located for guests wanting to be in the energetic heart of Cape Town’s Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. The hotel is well situated, with views of the working harbour and Table Mountain, and within a few minutes’ walk of a wide variety of shops, restaurants and markets as well as the ferry to Robben Island.
All of the spacious rooms are air-conditioned and have en-suite bathrooms, with a view of the Piazza. Day 4 - Cape Town
Enjoy a day of leisure in Cape Town! Take this time to explore the many attractions in and around this cosmopolitan city, or simply relax on the fashionable beaches of Camps Bay or Clifton.
During your stay you will enjoy a dinner at Ginja Restaurant. This chic new restaurant offers a wonderful atmosphere in an inviting and contemporary interior, a delicious artisanal and wholesome menu, with superb views across the Waterfront to Table Mountain.

Day 5 - Cape Town
Spend your days at leisure to explore your surroundings at your own pace.
To enhance your Cape Town experience, we recommend you enjoy a sightseeing tour. Our experienced Africa Specialists have some suggestions - a visit historic Robben Island is a poignant and moving experience to see where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned; or marvel at the brilliant views with a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain. The Cape Peninsula tour is a favorite option for enjoying Cape Town’s breathtaking scenery and watching the adorable African penguins at Boulders Beach.

Day 6 - Cape Town
Spend your last day in Cape Town doing some shopping or visit one of the many places of interest. There are historic and cultural sites, world-class museums and bustling markets, inviting beaches and lush gardens to visit, as well as great restaurants and wonderful shopping.

Day 7 - Cape Town/Port Elizabeth
It is time to say goodbye to beautiful Cape Town as you transfer from your hotel to Cape Town Airport in time for your scheduled flight to Port Elizabeth.
Upon arrival at Port Elizabeth you will be met and transferred to Shamwari – Villa Lobengula, where you will spend 3-nights including all meals and twice-daily game drives in a malaria free area.

Tucked away in the depths of the bushveld lies the tranquil Villa Lobengula. This private villa experience has been designed to resemble a traditional African kraal, boasting panoramic views of the mountains and valleys. Staying here means that you have exclusive use of the whole villa, which has six suites.
Shamwari Game Reserve offers a whole range of unique and fun activities and you can choose to do as much or as little as you wish. Game drives happen in the early morning and late afternoon in 4x4 safari vehicles, each lasting about three to four hours. You are accompanied by an extremely knowledgeable and experienced game ranger.
In between game drives, there is time to relax by the pool or enjoy one of the African inspired spa treatments, at the Bush retreat spa. You can also visit one of the two Born Free Big Cat Sanctuary's, the Ian Player Rhino Awareness Centre or The Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre where there is also the Animal Hospital where you can see the current patients.

Day 8 - Shamwari Game Reserve
Your days begins early with a hot breakfast served before you head out on this morning’s game drive. Each day on safari brings a new experience.
After an exhilarating search for tracks to see what the animals have been up to during the night, and tracking down wildlife in the bush, you will stop for a break of hot drinks and snacks, and a chance to stretch your legs. Continue your game drive en route back to the lodge where you will no doubt exchange stories with other guests about what animals had been spotted.

After freshening up you may want to take part in a bush walk close to the camp accompanied by a ranger and tracker. Walks allow you a better chance to see some of the smaller creatures of the bush as well as an opportunity to learn more about the flora and fauna of the region and to have a chance to follow tracks in more detail. After lunch, relax by the pool, enjoying the tranquility of the bush or perhaps enjoy a siesta.
In the late afternoon after high tea, before head out with your ranger and tracker for the afternoon game drive through the reserve. The game drive extends into the evening to view seldom seen nocturnal species by torchlight. This is when the nocturnal animals come to life and the lions go out on their hunt! Once again, you will take a break somewhere out in the bush, in a scenic spot to watch a magnificent African sunset while sipping a sundowner (cocktails at sunset).
Return for a delicious dinner in the outdoor boma or possibly a dinner in the bush.

Day 9 - Shamwari Game Reserve
Activities at Shamwari revolve around morning and evening game drives in 4x4 safari vehicles, each lasting about three to four hours.There are also guided nature walks, bird watching, well-being treatments or visits to the Rhino Awareness Centre, Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre and historic tours, all adding to this magnificent experience.
You are accompanied on drives and walks by your experienced game rangers, who will provide interesting information and anecdotes about the inhabitants of the bush. Each safari game drive is an opportunity to discover something new. While seeing big game is always exhilarating, there are many other smaller species that are just as captivating.

Day 10 - Shamwari Game Reserve/Johannesburg/USA
After breakfast and your morning game drive to track the animals that may have eluded you so far, return to the lodge. Later you will be transferred to Port Elizabeth for your scheduled flight to Johannesburg. Bid farewell to the place that has given you unforgettable wildlife encounters in the African bush. (B)
On arrival in Johannesburg you will connect for your ongoing flight back to the USA on South African Airways.
Day 11 - USA/Toronto
On arrival in New York or Washington, you will connect on to your flight back to Toronto. Arrive home with a lifetime of memories!
