This experience helps to contribute to gender equality and empowerment of women and girls with an included visit to the Kazuri Bead Factory. Its founder started with two single mothers and soon discovered many in the villages around Nairobi, that were disadvantaged and required regular employment. Today, Kazuri has grown tremendously and has a workforce of over 340 women skilled in crafting ceramic beads, strung into beautiful artistic jewelry.
Day 1 - Arrive Nairobi
On arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by a Lion World Travel Representative, and then be transferred to the 5 star Hemingways Nairobi Hotel.
The expansive rooms have an attentive butler to tend to every detail in your room. The view of The Green Hills of Africa, as described in Hemingway’s novel are all around.

Day 2 - Nairobi
A full day of excursions in Nairobi with a visit to the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and Karen Blixen Museum. Lunch at the Karen Blixen Coffee Gardens.
In the afternoon, visit the Giraffe Centre and the Kazuri Bead Factory followed by dinner at Carnivore Restaurant.

Day 3 - Nairobi/Samburu
Transfer to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to the Samburu National Reserve, an arid semi-desert land sparsely populated by nomadic people and some of the most colorful game viewing in the country.
The 5 star Samburu Intrepids sits on raised decks overlooking the Uaso Nyiro River where the elephants occasionally make an appearance, or crocodiles come out to lounge by the river banks. The luxury tents are set under a palm-thatched roof with netted screens on either side to allow for the river breeze and stunning views.
Spend the afternoon discovering the unique wildlife of the reserve.

Day 4 - Samburu National Park
An exciting day on safari looking out for species unique to the Samburu National Reserve.
Samburu boasts the most unusual fauna of all East Africa’s major savannah reserves. There is the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa Oryx and the long-horned Grant’s gazelle. The most unique of them all is the Gerenuk or antelope giraffe, distinguished by its extraordinarily distended neck and small head.

Day 5 - Samburu/Maasai Mara
Transfer to Samburu Airstrip and fly to the Maasai Mara, backdrop to ‘The greatest wildlife spectacle on earth', the annual wildebeest migration. On arrival at the Angama airfield you are met by a lodge driver-guide and vehicle and transferred to the Tented Angama Mara with a game drive en route.
Each tent offers breathtaking views of the Mara.

Day 6 - Maasai Mara
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives and activities in the Mara to look for black-maned lions, leopards and cheetahs returning from their night’s hunt.
Spend the afternoon discovering the unique wildlife of the reserve. Huge herds of elephant, prides of lion or the solitary leopard are regular visitors around the camp.

Day 7 - Maasai Mara
Depart on an early morning game drive followed by a picnic breakfast. Stop to visit a local community before returning to the lodge for lunch. Depart later on an afternoon game drive or walk along the escarpment.

Day 8 - Maasai Mara
Enjoy a full day game drive in the Mara Triangle with a picnic lunch. The wildlife is abundant, and the rolling grasslands ensure that animals are never out of sight. You will see great herds of elephants browsing among the rich tree-studded grasslands. Return to the lodge in the early evening for dinner and relaxation.

Day 9 - Maasai Mara/Depart
After a morning game drive and breakfast, you are transferred to Angama Mara Airfield for the scheduled flight to Nairobi Wilson. You are met on arrival and transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight. (B)
